Twitch has banned Central_Committee, also known as Mike from PA on X, hours after a clip of him seemingly threatening Kick and YouTube star Steven "Destiny" went viral on social media on November 8, 2024.
The clip was deleted from Central_Committee's account before the ban, but alternate sources allowed viewers to share it on websites like Reddit and X, where it garnered a lot of backlash. Popular streamer Asmongold also called on the platform to take action against the content creator.
Twitch has taken action and banned Centra_Committee, although it is unclear how long the suspension will last. StreamerBans reports that this is the streamer's fourth ban.
When one tries to access his account on the website, a generic message about the channel violating community guidelines and terms of service will appear.
Why was Central_Committee banned from Twitch? Comments about Destiny explored
Central_Committee is a political streamer on Twitch. The Pennsylvania-based activist is known as Mike from PA on X and has appeared on Majority Report with Sam Seder where he was known as such.
On November 8, 2024, the content creator went viral on social media after a clip of him seemingly making a call for violence against another political streamer, Destiny, started garnering backlash. While his channel may be unavailable right now, the clip in question can still be accessed online.
In it, Central_Committee can be seen reacting to a video from Destiny and criticizing him. After a disagreement, Mike from PA seemingly gave out a call asking the people of Florida to contact him to possibly earn $100,000.
"It's called shock, you f**king idiot. It's called shock! Anything that happens, I mean holy sh*t guys. If you live in Florida, I have an opportunity for you. If you want to $100,000, let me know."
For context, Destiny lives in Miami, Florida, and the statement from Central_Committee has been interpreted by many as a threat towards the political streamer.
While the reason for his Twitch ban has not been disclosed, the fact that the platform suspended his account soon after the clip started generating controversy indicates that it was the reason for the penalty.
Central_Committee has also reacted to the ban on X, claiming that he deserves it. In a subsequent post, he added that "the joke wasn't funny."
With about 80K followers, Central_Committee started his Twitch channel in 2015 and averages around 3.6K viewers. He also has a presence on YouTube, where the Mike from PA channel has around 11K subscribers.
