YouTube star Rachell "Valkyrae" has opened up about her recent trip to the Philippines. For context, on November 12, 2024, Valkyrae announced on X that she would be taking a week off to travel to the Philippines to celebrate her mother's birthday. She eventually hosted a comeback livestream on November 25, 2024.
While playing Valorant with her friends, Thomas "Sykkuno" and Sydney "Sydeon" asked her about the trip. In response, the co-owner of 100 Thieves said she was "in the depths of hell" during her time in the Southeast Asian country:
"Bro, I was in the depths of hell! Okay, imagine... all right? You are in the jungle. Okay? There's barely any internet. There's barely any AC. There's no coffee, so we're detoxing. Miyoung and I are both on our periods. And also, we suffered... there are no PCs! No coffee!"

"You guys had mangoes. My editor is from the Philippines, he definitely has computers."
Valkyrae then provided details about the region where her mother resides:
"Oh, no, no, no. Not where my mom's hometown is. It was because it was kind of late, and I think they're on... never mind. I think it's a [unintelligible]."

Miyoung shares her experience meeting Valkyrae's family, says she got food poisoning on the second day in the Philippines
Twitch streamer Miyoung "kkatamina" has also spoken about her trip to the Philippines and meeting Valkyrae's family. While expressing admiration for the 32-year-old's family and how they welcomed her, Miyoung explained why her trip to the country was "kind of a struggle."
She said:
"Her whole family was just, like, so sweet and so nice. I was like, 'Wow!' It was kind of a struggle because I got food poisoning the second day I was there, which was basically our first day in the province. I was puking like crazy. It was bad! Yeah, so I got food poisoning. But usually when I travel internationally, I either get deathly ill, right, I get a crazy fever or I get food poisoning, or well, every single time I go travel internationally, I get my period. I did also get my period."
