Recently, YouTube streamer Rachell "Valkyrae" took to her X account to hit out at certain pages sharing out-of-context clips of her talking about certain topics. The shared clips in question often had questionable titles. Speaking about the issue, Valkyrae revealed that she had been receiving online harassment due to this.
She wrote:
"I get people are just trying to make a few bucks with the logo and stuff but the hate I’ve received because of lies has been insane."
She even gave an example:
"Some of these clips are from when I shared a non-consensual sexual experience and out of context, I’m perceived as a wh*re."
On November 30, 2024, she put out an update on this situation, revealing that she is now seeking legal counsel:
"I’ve been inspired and made an appointment with a lawyer."
What is the ongoing harassment against Valkyrae?
YouTube streamer Valkyrae has recently spoken out against a series of posts directed at her over the past few days. These posts often take her statements out of context and pair them with inappropriate captions aimed at sexualizing her.
For example, during an episode of the Press ESC podcast, Valkyrae jokingly wished people a happy Thanksgiving and humorously said she was thankful for "c*ck." While it was a lighthearted jest, some accounts reposted the clip with misleading captions:
"Valkyrae reveals that she is thankful for Thanksgiving “C*CK” and LOVES her roster of guys that she SLEEPS AROUND with."
The same account also shared another video of Valkyrae, exaggerating her comments about using sex toys, further distorting her statements:
"VAlKYRAE Reveals that She is ADDICTED to VIBRATORS & can’t FINISH without one."
Some of these accounts have also been sharing these clips with a Stake.com logo overlaid on them. Many users have responded by adding Community Notes to these posts, pointing out that they may be violating the platform's guidelines.
At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether Valkyrae actually plans to pursue legal action against these posts or their creators. She has not specified which accounts are responsible.
