Twitch streamer Kai Cenat's ongoing Mafiathon 2 has seen several celebrities, creators, and personalities visit him. His latest guest was Max Major, a magician and a mentalist by trade. A mentalist, for those wondering, is someone who performs tricks that involve reading the mind. It's also worth noting Major's official website says he specializes in "reading body language."
He received a lot of applause for his performance in the 15th season of America’s Got Talent in 2020. Since it was a COVID year, he became the first person to make it from an online audition to the finals.
Max Major is also a YouTuber and content creator. On YouTube, he boasts of over 1 million subscribers. His website describes him as "the most followed mentalist on the planet." He also has over 426K followers on his Instagram handle (@itsmaxmajor).
As for his association with Kai Cenat, Major has previously visited the Twitch streamer's livestream. For instance, he pulled a trick on Cenat and rapper G Herbo in May 2023. The trick ended up shocking the two. Watch it here:
What is the controversy involving Max Major in Kai Cenat's Mafiathon 2?
Magician Max Major made his third appearance on Kai Cenat's channel during the subathon. He was last featured on it in 2023, and his performance on the ongoing Mafiathon 2 stream has sparked controversy.
Major pulled a stunt outside Kai Cenat's streaming mansion. It involved the former placing his head into a looped rope. Cenat had two handles in front of him and had to pull one. After Kai made his choice, the trick seemingly went awry, resulting in Major seemingly being choked. As such, the performance had to be abruptly stopped.
It left the rest of the crew, including Kai Cenat and Sexyy Red (one of today's guests on Mafiathon 2), visibly disturbed. They even attempted to stop Max Major and his team from leaving the house.
However, shortly after the prank, Max Major uploaded a new video titled, "A Message to Kai Cenat on his YouTube channel." In it, the magician explains that he anticipated Cenat would try to outsmart him and deliberately planned the trick so the streamer would intentionally choose the "wrong" handle. Here's what he says in the video:
"You wanted to see me fail, and I thought tonight, I will give you exactly what you asked for. You thought the game was for me to influence you to make the right choice but all along, I planned to influence you to make the wrong choice and I knew you'd pick the wrong handle."
Despite the explanation, fans and Kai Cenat expressed dissatisfaction, criticizing the magician for the unsettling nature of the trick. For instance, here are a couple of comments on his video:
While fans have called for Max Major to return and provide a detailed explanation or apology, the magician has informed Kai Cenat's team that he has left and wishes to embrace the role of the "bad guy."
