On Saturday, the Las Vegas Aces suffered their worst loss of the season as they got blown out by the Golden State Valkyries 95-68. The Aces were unable to contain Kayla Thornton (22 points and 11 rebounds), nor were they able to mitigate the bench unit led by Monique Billings (14 points on 5-for-9 shooting) and Kate Martin (12 points, seven rebounds, +30 in plus-minus column).

The Aces' third loss this season hinders them from catching up to the undefeated Minnesota Lynx and the Phoenix Mercury, who are currently reigning atop the Western Conference standings. Understandably, Aces fans are none too pleased with their team following the 27-point blowout affair.

"Aces are embarrassing to watch Aja need to leave," said one fan on Instagram.

To Wilson's credit, she topscored for the Aces as she put up 17 points, along with six rebounds and two assists. However, the reigning WNBA MVP also committed five turnovers, the most for any Las Vegas player in this game.

In addition, Wilson's 5-for-13 shooting mirrored the team's struggles from the field. The Valkyries held the Aces to a 35.5% shooting clip and 24.0% from beyond the arc. It didn't help that Golden State was adept at picking up Las Vegas' misses, outrebounding the visiting team 43-31.

While the Aces have a long way to go and player departures might not be the most viable option at the moment, the team's fanbase has evidently started to get restless as the blowout losses keep coming.

"Good old-fashioned a**-whooping": Las Vegas Aces HC minces no words following team's worst loss in 2025

During the post-game media availability, Aces head coach Becky Hammon made no attempt to sugarcoat the outcome that unfolded inside Chase Center.

"It was a good old-fashioned a**-whooping. There's no other way to put it," Hammon told reporters. "They outplayed us in every aspect of the game. It's really one of the worst games I've seen from us."

Numbers-wise, Hammon's assertion about the Aces' "worst game" holds true for this season, as their margin of loss has grown steadily. On opening night, they lost by 14 to the defending champions New York Liberty. Then, on May 25, the Aces suffered a 20-point beatdown at the hands of the Seattle Storm.
