Angel Reese is "disappointed in America," blames election results on people not putting aside their pride

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is one of the first WNBA celebrities to express her thoughts on Donald Trump winning the 2024 Presidential Elections and becoming the 47th President of the United States of America.

Reese took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday to express her feelings about Trump's victory.

"I’m so disappointed in America….Some of you just couldn’t selfishly put your pride aside huh??!?!?" Reese tweeted.

The Chicago Sky star was an active voice during the election period, frequently encouraging her followers to "Get up and vote."

However, Reese was left shocked when she woke up and witnessed the results, with Donald Trump on the verge of winning. She shared her disbelief in another X post earlier this morning.

"Woke up speechless…." Reese tweeted.

As per AP, Donald Trump has won the presidential elections with 277 confirmed electoral votes as of the time of publishing. On the contrary, the Democratic Party's candidate Kamala Harris has secured 224 electoral votes.

After Angel Reese made the post expressing her disappointment in America and blaming people for not putting aside their pride, the fans rushed to the comments section of her post to express their own opinions on the matter.

One fan corrected the Sky star and said that it was not pride but racism and misogyny.

"Wasn’t pride, it was racism and misogyny," one fan said.

Other fans joined the bandwagon and expressed similar sentiments in their comments.

"They let racism and misogyny dictate their lives for the next 4 years not knowing how much we all are about to lose," a fan said.

"It wasnt pride it was the high gas prices high food prices high mortgage rates car loan rates house prices and so much more," another fan said.

Another set of fans pointed out to Angel Reese that the election results were a reflection of people's choices.

"Everybody have choice you don’t have to choose for anybody," a fan said.

"It's the choice made by people," another fan said.

One fan advised the Sky star to not delve into the political world and to stay away from it.

"Stay out of politics. You have no idea what you’re talking about…Unsolicited advice: Stop trying to hold other people’s water before you start getting this work.."
