Angel Reese is perhaps her young brother, Julian Reese’s, biggest supporter. While the “Chi Barbie” has already made a name for herself in the WNBA, the Maryland power forward continues to compete in college basketball. On Monday, he led the Terrapins to an 84-53 rout of Florida A&M, their third straight win to open the season.
The Chicago Sky star shared on Instagram a clip of Julian against the Rattlers and wrote:
“GO BBYYYYYY BROTHERRRR @shifty_ju”
The 6-foot-9 Terps forward finished the game with a season-high 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one block. He hit 8-of-12 shots and made 5-of-5 free throws.
Julian Reese was the best player in the game and was asked to share his thoughts following the win. He said that he and his teammates had to "stay focused" as the game was a "good test for them."
Angel Reese had something to say about her younger brother’s comments:
“Consistency is [key emoji]”
The senior started every game he was healthy during his sophomore and junior years. During that span, he averaged 12.5 points per game on 58.6% shooting. He added 8.3 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.1 assists per contest. He has been quite consistent, but it remains to be seen if he can keep it up.
Angel Reese has been pushing her younger brother, Julian Reese, to be better
Julian Reese has one year left in college to prepare for the NBA. For this reason, Angel Reese has been encouraging and pushing him hard to improve. A few weeks before the Maryland Terrapins’ season started, he posted his readiness to lead his school.
The WNBA All-Star reacted:
“Kill they aas.”
Most scouting sites predict him to be a second-rounder or an undrafted rookie. Among his strengths are his rim protection, defensive versatility and athleticism. He earned negative reviews for his shooting, low-post scoring and reading of the game.
The WNBA All-Star knows how tough pro basketball is, so she is doing what she can to prepare her brother for his next journey in the sport.
