WNBA star Angel Reese is one of the top players in the league. However, she's played worse defensively in her sophomore season compared to her rookie year. Reese has struggled to be a reliable player on the offensive end, averaging 9.1 points on 30.9 percent shooting from the field.
On Tuesday, coach Tyler Marsh was asked how he and his staff are working to incorporate the 2024 Rookie of the Year runner-up offensively.
"I think we wanna get everyone going offensively," Marsh said. "But yeah, we want Angel to be more involved, we want Kamilla [Cardoso] to be more involved, everyone. So we got to find areas that put people in the best position to be successful."
Following Marsh's statement about getting Reese involved in the team's offense, fans revealed their thoughts.
"Angel Reese you will be a NY Liberty," a fan predicted.
"I'm praying for that Angel trade at this point 😭😭😭😭" another fan commented.
"When the time is right Angel will be in my city," one fan said.
Other fans blamed the WNBA star for not having a defined offensive game.
"Now when they run more plays for her and she’s still missing what’s gonna be the excuse then?" a fan commented.
"N***a look like a confused substitute teacher i feel sorry for him🤣🤣 angel reese ruining this man coaching experience," a comment read.
"The man who asked that question is delusional. She’s averaging 9ppg on 9 shots per game. Why would any team run an offense through this," another fan pointed out.
Boxing champion reacted to Angel Reese's recent award
At the 2025 BET Awards, Angel Reese was honored with the BET Sportswoman of the Year award. She beat Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson, boxing champion Claressa Shields, tennis star Coco Gauff, South Carolina basketball head coach Dawn Staley, LSU star Flau'jae Johnson, USC youngster JuJu Watkins, track and field star Sha'Carri Richardson and gymnast Simone Biles.
However, Shields felt like someone other than Reese should've gotten the honor. On X (formerly Twitter), the boxer revealed her thoughts on not winning the award.
"Still don’t know how I didn’t win the Sportswoman of the Year for the @BETAwards but Congrats to Angel Reese and all the other Nominees 🤷🏽♀️ I just thought accolades mattered," Shields posted.
She followed it up by clarifying that she doesn't view Reese as someone with a few accolades. However, having more accolades, Shields thought the trophy would be given to her. The 30-year-old boxer ended her post by saying she supports the Sky forward.
