Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams gave her opinion on the impact of Caitlin Clark on the Indiana Fever. On Saturday, Williams gave Clark her flowers while discussing her return from injury during a livestream with Natisha Hiedeman and Dallas’ DiJonai Carrington.

Williams kept it short and sweet while talking about Clark’s impact on the Indiana Fever:

“Caitlin Clark make them girls different," Williams said.

Before making this comment, Williams had misinterpreted Clark’s injury status for the Fever-Sky game. She was under the impression that Clark would be available for Indiana and made a telling comment, saying:

“That game might get ugly then.”

Caitlin Clark started this season well, recording 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 9.3 assists through her first four games. She picked up a quadriceps strain after the game against the New York Liberty and has been unavailable since.

However, the Fever has done well in her absence, winning two out of four games, but Williams’ point still stands. It is clear that the Indiana Fever are a different team without her.

Clark was originally ruled out of action for two weeks. This means that she could return against the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday. While Courtney Williams rates the Indiana star highly, she won’t get to face her till the Fever-Lynx game on Aug. 22. Williams has also been solid this season, averaging 13.9 points, 6.3 assists and 5.0 rebounds.

How Caitlin Clark and Co. celebrated Fever coach’s special milestone

The Indiana Fever’s assistant coach, Austin Kelly, got his first WNBA win against the Chicago Sky on Saturday. Head coach Stephanie White was unavailable due to personal reasons, so Kelly had to step in as the acting coach.

Caitlin Clark and Co. were also excited about Kelly’s major milestone and made his night special. The players crowded their coach in the locker room and drenched him with water, celebrating his special night.

A clip posted on X shows Clark running towards Indiana’s locker room while asking someone to “get the water!" Following their win against the Sky, Indiana is now seventh in the league after splitting its first eight games of the season.

The Fever has done well to stay afloat in Clark's absence, and it won't be long before she's back on the court.
