In comparison, the Phoenix Mercury are doing much better and are fourth (6-4) in the league. The team has done well, despite being without last season’s leading scorer Kahlea Cooper. She recorded 21.1 points in 2024 and will provide a big boost whenever she returns to the lineup.

The Wings should also do better on Wednesday, as Paige Bueckers is set to return after missing the team’s last four games. She missed three games due to the concussion protocol and another due to an illness. Bueckers last played on May 29 against the Chicago Sky.

Tyasha Harris underwent surgery on her left knee on Tuesday and is set to miss the remainder of this season. Furthermore, Teaira McCowan has left the team to join the Turkish women’s national team for the 2025 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket tournament.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Mercury have four players listed on their injury report for Wednesday’s game.

Natasha Mack is dealing with a back injury and is listed as probable. Alyssa Thomas is also likely to return. Furthermore, Megan McConnel is out with a knee injury, and Kahlea Cooper is yet to play her first game of the season.
