DiJonai Carrington's seatbelt celebration appeared to be copied by Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown
DiJonai Carrington's last season in the WNBA was a revelation in terms of her defensive impact for the Suns. Her "seatbelt" celebration became a trademark whenever she succeeded in locking up an opposition attack.
During an NBA Cup game between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 29, Jaylen Brown appeared to have done a similar celebration. In the video posted on X by Bleacher Report, his alleged "copy-cat" celebration came after he made a poster dunk on Chicago's Jalen Smith.
The video caught the attention of fans as they were divided between Carrington and Brown as to who perfected the iconic celebration. Regardless, it was nice to see the Suns' star get acknowledged by fans from all over social media.
Carrington demonstrated her defensive prowess last season as she was ranked ninth in the WNBA in steals (61). The Suns start the new season at home on May 18 against the Washington Mystics at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Montville, NJ.
