Connecticut Sun's DiJonai Carrington took to social media to lament after the team traded two players to the Chicago Sky.

The Sun are currently the second-best team in the Eastern Conference and WNBA. But after their recent two losses against the New York Liberty, the front office is trying to shake things up now that the league is entering a break.

Connecticut sent Rachel Banham and Moriah Jefferson to Chicago, as the 2021 WNBA champion added more backcourt depth. In exchange, they're getting a solid player in Marina Mabrey, an important piece for the Sky this season.

Carrington isn't happy about this decision and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared six emojis to explain how she's feeling after learning of this news.

Moreover, she shared a collage of her pictures with Banham and Jefferson, using three more emojis to say goodbye to her now former teammates.

"Love y'all, man," Carrington wrote alongside three emojis of broken hearts.

The addition of Marina Mabrey should be beneficial for the Sun, who are still close to the Liberty. They want to resume the season hunting Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart and company for the best record in the competition.

What DiJonai Carrington, Connecticut Sun should expect from Marina Mabrey?

Even though she and her former team struggled to get things going, Marina Mabrey should be a key addition for the Sun. They already have DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas to dominate the paint, while DiJonai Carrington has become a solid contributor to the team.

Mabrey has shown that she can help her team in several ways. The guard has filled up the stat sheets with the Sky, averaging 14.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game in 23 outings with the Chicago Sky.

She's averaging a career-high 5.1 rpg this season, showing that her game is still evolving.

The Sun started the 2024 season on a strong note, but its record has taken some hits in the last 10 games, winning five and losing five over that span. They are now entering the WNBA's All-Star and the Olympic break, where they will try to recover and get stronger for the final sprint of the season.

DiJonai Carrington keeps playing as a MIPOY award candidate, but the addition of Marina Mabrey can do wonders for her and the rest of the team.
