Former Warriors player Gilbert Arenas reacted to USC Trojans' basketball star JuJu Watkins' hilarious reason behind her signature hair bun. On Monday, Complex Sports shared a post on Instagram, featuring Watkins revealing the secret behind her hair.
The post featured a picture of Watkins and a quotation from the Trojans' player revealing the secret of her hair bun. It also included two video clips from Watkins' interview on "On the Rise: JuJu Watkins". In the last video, Watkins' mother is seen styling the hair bun for the collegiate basketball star.
"Everybody gonna know that my mom does my hair," Watkins on her signature bun.
Gibert Arenas dropped his reaction to the post in the comment section. The former NBA player shared three laughing emojis to express his amusement on hearing the secret behind Watkins' signature hair bun.
In the video, the interviewer asks Watkins if she had perfected her hair and learned something from her mother. The Trojans' star chuckled before giving her response.
"Listen, this is all I am gonna say. I am working on it. I am trying to get it like that. This woman has 18 years of experience, so please relax! Chill on me for a second," Watkins said.
In the last video, JuJu Watkins' mother revealed that she and her daughter had a pregame routine where she did her hair before the game while discussing the pre-game strategies and how she should play when the spotlight is not on her.
Gilbert Arenas once praised JuJu Watkins and compared her to NBA legends
Ever since her college basketball debut on Nov. 6, 2023, JuJu Watkins has made a name for herself as one of the best and most exciting college basketball players. Gilbert Arenas appeared on NFL Icon Shannon Sharpes' "Nightcap" podcast in March and praised the Trojans' sophomore and compared her to NBA legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
"If you watch her work out, you wouldn’t know she was a girl. She has no mannerisms," Arenas said.
"She works out with Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker and she can mimic all of them. She got so much power, so much swag. I’ve seen this girl do some amazing things during big games, she has the Kobe and Jordan Gene."
Later on, Arenas said that he had seen only a few players who possess the "clutch gene". He name dropped Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark as two players who have what it takes to not fail their team when they need them the most.
Shannon Sharpe agreed with Arenas' statements and said that Watkins' game reminded him of WNBA legend Maya Moore.
