New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu's Nike Sabrina 2 is one of the most popular shoes among WNBA players. With the WNBA playoffs set to start on Sunday, the three-time All-Star and Nike have announced two new colorways of the Sabrina 2.
The 'Relentless' and the 'White Noise' colorways will be released on Oct. 1, the WNBA playoffs' second semifinal gameday. Both colorways will be released for $130 on Nike.com, as well as in select Nike stores and affiliated online retailers.
The 'Relentless' colorway features an off-white cream-colored design, complimented by white accents and Nike's signature swoosh in black across the side. It also features an 'S' on the tongue, giving the shoes a subtle but clear mark of Ionescu's signature line.
The other colorway, 'White Noise,' features a blank canvas, with mixed whites flowing into one another throughout the silhouette, which are reminiscent of the Nike Kobe 5.
The 'White Noise' colorway lives up to its name, with Ionescu's signature 'S' atop the tongue.
The news comes ahead of the Liberty's final regular season game on Thursday, where Ionescu and the team will look to close out their remarkable season strong.
"Not a women's basketball shoe or a men's basketball shoe, but just basketball" - Sabrina Ionescu talked about her signature shoes
Since the release of Sabrina Ionescu's Sabrina 1 in 2023, the shoes have received positive reviews from fans and players alike. In addition to a slew of WNBA players, many NBA players have worn it.
Last season, Mikal Bridges wore the shoes for Team USA's practices at the FIBA World Cup before wearing them throughout the season. In addition to Bridges, Jrue Holiday, Jalen Brunson and Jordan Poole have also worn Ionescu's signature shoes.
"Not a women's basketball shoe or a men's basketball shoe, but just basketball," Ionescu said of the Sabrina 1s in April (via ESPN). "Being able to tell that story and have people authentically buy in and respect that, I think the time is now in terms of wanting that to be pushed."
With Nike releasing the Sabrina 2s this summer, once the NBA season tips off, fans will likely see more of the league's biggest stars wearing Ionescu's signature shoes.
