Coming off a career-high 35-point performance against the Phoenix Mercury, Dallas Wings star rookie Paige Bueckers is expected to play in their matchup against the Las Vegas Aces on Friday.

Prior to the game against the Mercury, Bueckers, who was picked No. 1 by the Wings in the 2025 WNBA draft, missed four straight games due to concussion protocol. After the quick hiatus, Bueckers played 37 minutes to score a career-high 35 points but ended in a 93-80 loss.

The Wings-Aces game is scheduled at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time and will happen at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.

Against the Mercury, Bueckers shot 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Overall, she was 13-for-19 from the field on top of six rebounds and four assists.

The Wings have only won one game so far this season. It came on May 27 against the Connecticut Sun, where Bueckers had an all-around showing of 21 points, five rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

The Wings are currently the worst team in the league with a 1-10 win-loss record. Meanwhile, the Aces are 4-4 this season.

In the seven games she has played so far, Bueckers averaged 17.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game.

Bueckers is seen to continue her astounding start this season against the former two-time WNBA champions.

Paige Bueckers wants to contribute in more areas for Wings

Paige Bueckers wants to continue being an all-around player as she gains her wind back following her emphatic return. After a 35-point showcase, Bueckers expressed how much she wants to contribute in other areas on the floor for the Wings to keep herself even more valuable for the squad in the long run.

"I mean I was coming back from a break, and I feel like I could have used my voice more, been more disruptive, crashed the glass more," she said via ESPN.com. "So as I get my wind under me, I'll be better in those areas.
“But like I said, just trying to contribute in other areas and whatever that looks like on any given night and will try to put my full effort toward that," she added.

Since being drafted, Bueckers has become the Wings’ franchise cornerstone alongside last year’s Most Improved Player, DiJonai Carrington, and Arike Ogunbowale. However, the Wings are currently dealing with a rough start this season as they struggle to match other squads’ firepower.
