Kate Martin wasn’t the only one breaking a sweat on Thursday. While the Golden State Valkyries guard logged 14 minutes during the Commissioner’s Cup matchup against the Phoenix Mercury, her girlfriend, Claire Gransee, had her own adventure.
On Thursday, Gransee gave her Instagram followers an insight into her travel day, posting a photo of herself while rushing through the airport in Phoenix.
“Subtle sprint through PHX airport in kitten heels. Southwest give a girl a chance,” she captioned the Instagram Story.
Gransee’s airport Story came shortly after the Valkyries fell to the Mercury 86-77. Martin, the birthday girl, contributed seven points, four rebounds and one assist in her 14 minutes on the court.

The loss marked Golden State’s third straight defeat, with the last two coming in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Martin’s showing on her 25th birthday was a notable improvement from her performance last year. On June 5, 2024, she went scoreless with no rebounds, putting up just one assist and two steals during the Las Vegas Aces’ 95-81 victory over the Dallas Wings.
