Lisa Leslie once revealed being rejected from coaching roles in the WNBA and revealed she won’t likely ever apply again
During an episode of Angel Reese's podcast "Unapologetically Angel" in February, WNBA icon Lisa Leslie was questioned about coaching in the WNBA. Although expressing her desire to do so, the former LA Sparks center revealed she had been rejected from two coaching roles this season.
Expressing that it was the first time she was going to talk about the rejections, she said:
"I am going to say this for the first time, I put my name in the hat to coach this year for two teams all the way down to the end ... but I did not get it. And I felt like I would never make another attempt to go into coaching the WNBA."
Although not mentioning names, Lisa Leslie could be the leader many teams need across the league. She was previously the head coach for the Triplets in the BIG3.
