With the 2024 Olympics going on, Nika Muhl has enjoyed an elongated gap in her first WNBA season. During the break, she seems to be taking in all the international competition.

One of the more impressive stories of the Paris Games is archer Yaylagul Ramazanova of Azerbaijan. She is representing her country in the Summer Games while being nearly seven months pregnant.

As Ramazanova continues through Olympic competition, she received a shoutout from Nika Muhl. The rookie guard shared her thoughts on the story of her feeling her baby kick just before she shot at 10.

"Tough," Muhl wrote.

Despite not playing much to start her pro career, Muhl has become one of the most popular rookies among fans. The Seattle Storm guard currently has over 515,000 followers on Instagram alone.

Muhl has only appeared in 12 games this season and played a total of 33 minutes. She has yet to score her first official points but has recorded six rebounds and one assist in the WNBA.

Nika Muhl not worried about having to earn minutes in the WNBA

Entering the WNBA has been a major change for Nika Muhl from a playing standpoint. In her last two-and-a-half years of college, she was a full-time starter at UConn. Now with the Seattle Storm, she is rarely getting playing time.

Despite regularly receiving DNPs, Muhl has managed to keep herself in the right frame of mind. Earlier this season, she touched on how she isn't discouraged by having to earn his spot on the court.

"“I gotta earn my spot, simple as that. And while I’m earning my spot, I’m having fun and I’m growing and I’m learning," Muhl said. "And I’m just waiting for my opportunity and I love waiting for it too.”

Part of why Nika Muhl has struggled to find consistent minutes is because of the team she is on. The Seattle Storm are currently in fourth place with an impressive 17-8 record. Given the talent on the roster, the second-round pick has multiple highly skilled players ahead of her on the depth chart.

The Storm are currently led by a trio of All-Star-level talents in Jewell Loyd, Nneka Ogwumike and Skylar Diggins-Smith. Muhl plays the same position as two of these players, resulting in an uphill battle to get playing time.

At this point in the year, the most amount of time Muhl has gotten in one game is around seven minutes. That said, based on her comments, she seems to be embracing the situation like a professional.
