The Chicago Sky dominated the LA Sparks despite cold game from Angel Reese

After showing off their glamorous pregame outfits, the Chicago Sky changed into their jerseys to take on their opponents.

The Sky clearly showed up ready to the contest as evidenced by how well they played in the first half. The Sparks struck first by scoring the game's first field goal off a Cameron Brink steal but the Chicago came back quickly after a Marina Mabrey three.

Chicago dominated the first quarter and by the time the opening frame ended, they were leading 26-15. LA fired the opening salvo in the second quarter again by making a three-pointer to cut the lead to eight but Chicago once again countered and went on a huge run. By the time the game reached the halftime break, the score was at 49-31.

The Sparks showed up in the third quarter behind a strong showing from Dearica Ambry. They outscored the Sky in the third 27-18 to cut the lead to only nine points, 58-67.

In the game's final frame, both teams slugged it out for a heavyweight battle. They exchanged basket-for-basket but the hole that the Sparks dug for themselves in the first half was too great for them to make a comeback. The game ended with a final score of 83-73.

Angel Reese had a quiet game with only six points on 3-for-8 shooting as well as six rebounds and three assists. She also had two steals. Despite having a cold game, she had a positive impact as she ended with a +17 on the +/- while seeing 25 minutes of action.
