NFL legend Shannon Sharpe found himself trending for all the wrong reasons on Wednesday and Las Vegas Aces guard Sydney Colson had some jokes for it. Sharpe unknowingly went on Instagram Live while engaging in private sex for all of his followers to hear the audio of. As a result, the memes kept flying all over X, formerly known as Twitter.
Colson posted an image of an individual holding two pencils in what appears to be a creation of a beat for a freestyle. She then included a brief caption where she associated the pencil with Sharpe and the individual he was calling to in the video.
"She call me Shannon Sharpe when I put my pencil in. Yeah that's my Michelle, got it stenciled on my skin," Colson posted.
The post garnered over 18k likes on the platform as she made use of some humor while making light of Sharpe's situation.
With several jokes, including one from Sydney Colson, flying around, Shannon Sharpe said he wasn't hacked
During the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe's "Nightcap," the pro football Hall of Famer wanted to clear the air on what happened to him on his Instagram Live.
Instead of running with the excuse or alibi that his personal account was hacked, Sharpe said he simply threw his phone on the bed without any knowledge that he went live on the social media platform.
With over 3.2 million followers on Instagram, it immediately went viral and was already too late to salvage by that point.
"(0:14) Obviously I am embarrassed," Sharpe said. "Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your intimate details — the audio — heard for the entire world to hear, ... There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I'm behind closed doors."
Regardless of the jokes and memes thrown his way, Sharpe followed it up by making light of the situation alongside his co-host Chad Johnson, similar to how WNBA guard Sydney Colson went about it.
