Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese was left bewildered on Monday over an Instagram post from ESPN. The ESPN Women's account shared a picture of Reese celebrating her dog's birthday, earning a reaction from her. It didn't sit well with the Sky forward, who expressed her bafflement over the post.
The ESPNW account re-posted a couple of images from Reese's Instagram stories, showcasing her dog's second birthday celebrations. Captioning the post with a short note, the handle wrote:
"Angel Reese made sure her dog, Tiago, felt all the birthday love 🐶👏."
This, however, puzzled Reese, as she questioned the account's motive behind the post in the comments section.
"Wait, what was the point of posting this?? This is VERY WEIRD," she wrote.

The Instagram post featured Reese's dog, Tiago, who was pictured enjoying his birthday cake. While seemingly harmless, the Chicago forward was not pleased with the account's post.
Many fans were puzzled by the post, too, as they reacted to Reese's comments.
"Literally! Like, love ya, but I truly don’t know why ur dog’s birthday is ESPN worthy news???" wrote a fan.
"@angelreese5 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought this. Thank you for confirming the f*ckery by @espnw," expressed a second.

ESPN's post featuring Tiago didn't convey a birthday wish, and from Reese's reaction, it was apparently posted without prior consent.
Angel Reese joins a special club as she wins the Sportswoman of the Year award at the BET Awards
Angel Reese entered an elite circle on Monday, claiming the 2025 BET Award for Sportswoman of the Year. With her third consecutive win, she now stands alongside Serena Williams as the only other athlete to achieve this distinction three years in a row. The Chicago Sky forward was recognized with this honor after an impressive year both on and off the court.
In her first WNBA season, Reese set multiple records, including the most rebounds collected in a single season. Furthermore, she played a huge role in leading the Rose BC to victory during Unrivaled's inaugural season.
Off the court, Reese took an active role in giving back to the community, as she launched the Angel C. Reese Foundation. The organization aims to empower girls through sports, education and financial literacy.
