Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson made history during the highly anticipated matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever by breaking the WNBA’s single-season scoring record. Wilson came into the game with 929 points, just 10 shy of Jewell Loyd’s previous record of 939 points.
Needing 11 points to set the new record, Wilson quickly tied it with 10 points in the first quarter. After a quiet second quarter, she made a 17-foot pull-up jumper, officially surpassing the record with 941 points.
A’ja Wilson has been having a phenomenal WNBA season, averaging 27.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game. This year, she also set a new personal best, surpassing her 2023 total of 912 points.
A two-time WNBA champion, Wilson has earned numerous accolades, including Rookie of the Year in 2018, two MVP awards in 2020 and 2022, Finals MVP in 2023 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
