We have now reached the one-month mark into the 2025 WNBA season. A handful of squads have put together a strong start to the year, but some teams continue to prove to be head and shoulders above the pack.
Through four weeks of action, the biggest storyline in the league is a pair of unbeaten squads. After facing off in the finals, the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx remain major title threats. A month into the 2025 campaign, neither squad has found themselves in the loss column yet.
While the Liberty and Lynx are ahead of the pack, there are still other teams that deserve a mention for how they've come out of the gates. Following another week of competitive WNBA action, here is the latest installment of power rankings.
2025 WNBA power rankings after Week 4:
5) Seattle Storm
Rounding out the top five this week is the Seattle Storm. Their play has been up and down to open the season, but they are back to trending in the right direction.
After going on a three-game losing streak, the Storm bounced back last week to get back above .500 on the year. They are currently riding high on a minor win streak, picking up victories over the Dallas Wings and Phoenix Mercury.
4) Atlanta Dream
One team that has been a common fixture in these WNBA power rankings to start the year is the Atlanta Dream. The new-look roster continues to shine, currently sitting third in the standings at 5-3.
Atlanta dropped their last matchup but are fresh off a four-game win streak. Their offense remains the driving force of their success. Through their first eight games, they have the league's third-best offense in terms of offensive rating.
3) Phoenix Mercury
Another roster that went through a makeover in the offseason and starting strong in the Phoenix Mercury. They've had some struggles as of late, but still have the third-most wins in the WNBA right now (6).
The Mercury are .500 as the Commissioner's Cup rages on, posting a 2-2 record. They picked up a win over the Golden State Valkyries last week but suffered losses at the hands of the Lynx and Storm.
2) New York Liberty
The top two of the WNBA power rankings continue to shake up as the season rages on. Though they've arguably been the most dominant team in the league thus far, the Liberty come in at No. 2 this week.
New York only had one matchup last week, squaring off against the Washington Mystics. They extended their winning streak to eight games, walking out with an 86-78 victory.
Along with being a perfect 8-0, the reigning champs also currently have the WNBA's top offense and defense.
1) Minnesota Lynx
Back at the top this week is the Lynx. They jump the Liberty primarily due to the fact that they're undefeated in more games played thus far.
Led by MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier, the Lynx have been equally as dominant as New York. They sit at No. 2 in both offensive (107.0) and defensive (93.6) rating.
Minnesota continues to shine in the Commissioner's Cup, picking up double-digit wins against the Mercury and Wings in their last two matchups.
