I Love Lucy first aired on CBS in 1951. The show's main characters, Lucy and Ricky, were played by real-life couple Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Filled with funny moments, mostly from Lucy's attempt to break into show business and Ricky's efforts to keep her grounded, their differences occasionally lead to humorous misunderstandings but also show very well how they balance each other out. The show remains a classic today because of its great performances and clever writing.
