Italy’s Michal Lasko (left) and Ivan Zaytsev kiss their girlfriends after defeating Bulgaria in the men’s volleyball bronze medal match of the London 2012 Olympics Games on August 12. The 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 victory continued Italy’s run of winning a medal at the last five Games, although the team that dominated the sport in the 1990s have never won gold.

Italy beat Bulgaria by three sets to one to claim the Olympic Games men’s volleyball bronze medal on Sunday.

The 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 victory continued Italy’s run of winning a medal at the last five Games, although the team that dominated the sport in the 1990s have never won gold.

Outsiders Bulgaria missed out on a first medal since the 1980 Moscow Games that were widely boycotted.

Sunday’s final is between beaten Beijing finallists Brazil, the current world champions, and Russia.
