Maxwell Holt, commonly known as Max Holt, is a professional volleyball player representing the United States men's national volleyball team. He joined the national team in 2009 and debuted at the Pan American Cup. In September 2013, he contributed to the team's success by winning the NORCECA Championship. He also secured a gold medal at the World League in July 2014 and earned a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He was also part of championship-winning teams for the 2014 World League and the 2015 World Cup.

In addition to his accomplishments with Team USA, Max Holt has played professionally in various international leagues. Notably, during the 2022-2023 season, he participated in China's top league as a member of Beijing BAIC Motor's men's volleyball team, based in Beijing. His prior engagements include competing in Italy's SuperCup with Azimut Modena during both the 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons; he also represented Dynamo Moscow in the CEV Cup (2014-15) and competed with Copra Elior Piacenza during the CEV Challenge Cup (2012-13). Max Holt attended Pennsylvania State University from 2006 to 2008, playing on their men's volleyball team. Furthermore, in 2007 he was selected for participation with the United States Junior National Team at that year's World Championship held in Rabat, Morocco.

Furthermore, Sam represented Team USA at the Pan American Games held in Lima in 2019. During his high school years at Purcell Marian High School located in Cincinnati, Ohio, he participated not only in volleyball but also in basketball. In his senior year in 2011, he received Player of the Year honors and was recognized as a first-team All-Greater Catholic League selection.
