Snowflakes transform into four Olympic rings with one failing to form during the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics
Very few will forget the gaffe at the Sochi Winter Olympics opening ceremony, where the fifth Olympic ring of the famous logo failed to form, leaving four rings and a malfunctioned snowflake on the side. This infamous incident, however, was partially made up for by the brilliance and humour in the closing ceremony, where the Russians cleverly used to it to mock themselves.
In a perfectly orchestrated move, the deliberately unopened fifth ring was held in position for a few seconds, and then transformed into the fifth circle in a spectacular manner. The world will forever remember the sportsmanship of this great nation, in what was one of premier highlights of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
