The exit of Dimitar Berbatov- inevitiable?

Dimitar Berbatov’s future at Old Trafford has started to look extremely foggy. With a number of interested parties lining up to secure his services, the exit bell at Manchester United seems to have been pressed. But it could be highly ironic if last year’s top scorer for United happens to leave the club in search of new pastures. But allowing him to leave this summer could turn out to be a great tactical move by Sir Alex.

Berbatov has just crossed the 30 barrier and he is definitely at the twilight of his purple patch. He has got a year left on the contract and he is not interested in penning short term deals with United. He spent half the games last year starting on the bench with Javier Hernandez getting the nod over him. And now with the return of Danny Welback from a loan spell at Sunderland and the new signing of Ashley Young things only looks to get tougher for the Bulgarian. Sir Alex might be forced to play a 4-2-3-1 formation this summer to fit in all his major attacking players and Berbatov does not look a great deal ahead of Chicharito or Rooney in the pecking order for the lone striker spot. A similar season like last year will only see his value drop in the Transfer Market

So in the best of interest it might be the best option for the Manchester club to cash in on its’ Bulgarian hitman. Another $20 million in the kitty could only speed up their chase for the man they are hunting for Wesley Sneijder.
