F1 2011 constructor's championship

Sahara Force India finished 6th in the constructor’s championship table with 69 points, just 4 points shy of 5th placed Renault. This is a testimony to the rampant growth in stature of this team in just a short span of 4 years. Come 2012, they could be at the heels of the top four. While their point scoring pattern has been inconsistent in 2011, they were successful in fending off the challenge of Sauber, Toro Rosso and Williams. Adrian Sutil has been their main man since 2008 and he delivered this year, earning them 42 points in their tally of 69. Paul di Resta who debuted in F1 this year, earned 27 points which is commendable for a rookie driver.

F1 2011: Top 5 constructors

The top 5 place in the constructor’s championship remain unchanged when compared to 2010. However, Red Bull have been more dominant this year. McLaren too have improved their performance from last year, mainly due to improved performances from Jenson Button, who disappointed in 2010. Ferrari have paid the price for their slow car and end 2011 at a disappointing third position. Mercedes and Renault round-up the top 5 of the table. Renault weren’t as dominant this year as they were in 2011, but were able to cling on to their 5th position due to their podium finishes in the initial races of this year. They should be wary of Force India who are breathing down their neck. 2012 could be the year that Sahara Force India break into the top 5. Right now, let’s raise the flag for their awesome performance in Brazil.
