Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid recently went into detail about how he improved his shooting.

Embiid will likely win his second scoring title this season. He now leads the MVP race after an impressive 52-point performance against the Boston Celtics. His dominant play has been a major factor in the 76ers' success this season. With the playoffs right around the corner, Embiid and the 76ers have their work cut out for them.

The Sixers' current roster is stacked with talent. They haven't had this level of depth since the 2018-19 campaign. With the likes of James Harden, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey supporting Embiid, the 76ers have a deep and talented squad.

Joel Embiid revealed that YouTube played a huge role in how he improved his shooting:

“So I'm chilling one night, and I go on YouTube, and I think I'm about to figure this shooting thing out. I go to the search box like 'HOW TO SHOOT 3 POINTERS,' Nah. 'HOW TO SHOOT GOOD FORM,' Nah. Then the light bulb went off, man. I typed in the magic words: 'WHITE PEOPLE SHOOTING 3 POINTERS.'”

He continued:

“Listen, I know it's a stereotype, but have you ever seen a normal, 30-year-old white guy shoot a three-pointer? That elbow is tucked, man. The knees are bent. The follow-through is perfect. Always…I seriously got to the league by watching YouTube and living in the gym. There's no other way to explain it.”

Is Joel Embiid now the favorite for NBA MVP award?

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has been the MVP front-runner for most of the season, but Joel Embiid has made a late-season surge that cannot be ignored.

Jokic has been a dominant force, averaging 24.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 9.8 assists. He has also been a consistent threat from beyond the arc, shooting 38.5% on 5.5 3-point attempts per game. His playmaking abilities have been on full display. Jokic has carried the Nuggets through injuries and inconsistencies.

Joel Embiid has also been putting up eye-popping numbers. He is averaging 33.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while shooting 54.7% from the field. Jokic has the upper hand in offensive efficiency, but Embiid has been a much better two-way player.

Here's what Doc Rivers said after Joel Embiid scored 52 of the 103 points that the 76ers scored against the Boston Celtics:

"The man just scored half our points, in an NBA game. I'm biased, but the MVP race is over."
