Nick Wright highlights Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant’s flaws while defending Steve Nash: “They play basketball like they wanted to get their coach fired”

The Brooklyn Nets have been in the news for all the wrong reasons many times over the past two seasons. Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons have done nothing besides bring bad vibes to the organization.

Brooklyn fired Steve Nash on Tuesday, and many are saying it's because of what Irving and Durant did to him.

"Both these things can be true," Wright said. "Steve Nash was in an impossible position. And Steve Nash, in two-plus years of the Brooklyn Nets has done a miserable job. ... For two-and-a-half years, they have been an awful defensive team.

Wright added:

Nick Wright has said things about Kyrie Irving in the past, including about two weeks ago when he went at him for "promoting" an Alex Jones conspiracy video:

“Kyrie Irving, sometime when he wasn’t promoting Alex Jones conspiracy videos, discussed winning an MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year Award,” Wright tweeted. “He’s 3-13, has 6 points, and has been a turnstile on defense while his team loses by 25.”

Despite being one of the best basketball players to ever play the game, Irving has continued to do things that put him in a bad hole off the court. As a result, many are becoming fed up with his actions.

Irving has recently received backlash for posting an antisemitic movie on his Twitter feed.

Kyrie issued an apology on Instagram hours after being suspended by the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. His delay in apologizing was much longer than most were hoping for.

"To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize," Irving posted on Instagram. "I initially reacted out of emotion to being unjustly labeled Anti-Semitic, instead of focusing on the healing process of my Jewish Brothers and Sisters that were hurt from the hateful remarks made in the Documentary.

"I want to clarify any confusion on where I stand fighting against Anti- semticism by apologizing for posting the documentary without context and a factual explanation outlining the specific beliefs in the Documentary I agreed with and disagreed with.

"I had no intentions to disrespect any Jewish cultural history regarding the Holocaust or perpetuate any hate. I am learning from this unfortunate event and hope we can find understanding between us all."

Many around the league are unsure if he will ever play a game in another Brooklyn Nets jersey.
