Kentucky has played in a total of 17 NCAA Final Fours in men's basketball. This is the third-most all-time in NCAA history, tying Duke. The only schools above them in terms of Final Four appearances are the league-leading UNC Tar Heels (21 appearances) and the UCLA Bruins (18 appearances).

Aside from that, the Wildcats are also tied for the fourth-most consecutive Final Four appearances with three (Houston is the other program). What year did Kentucky go undefeated in the regular season?

When talking about undefeated regular seasons for Kentucky Men's Basketball, it can mean two things. That's because, before the Wildcats' stint in the NCAA, they did have one undefeated regular season at 9-0, which happened way back in the 1911-1912 season. That was the program's first-ever undefeated regular season when they were still a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAA) – a sort of forerunner to the modern NCAA.

Their next undefeated regular season came in 1953-1954 under head coach Adolph Rupp (who won the most titles out of all Kentucky head coaches), when they went 25-0 and were crowned Helms National Champions. Helms (aka the Helms Athletic Foundation) was also one of the earlier governing bodies for athletics in the United States established in 1936. It has since been renamed the LA84 Foundation in 2007.
