25-foot steel bat unveiled as tribute to Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar unveils a large steel bat

Network 18 group has set up a 25-foot steel bat as a tribute to retired Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who scaled several heights over his illustrious 24-year international career. The bat, which was installed near Tendulkar’s residence on Carter Road Promenade, weighs over two tones and is the biggest in the world.

Named the ‘Bat of Honour’, it is made of stainless-steel and was opened to public by Tendulkar himself on Sunday, March 2, 2014. It has the words from the master’s farewell speech inscribed on it, which makes it even more special.
