According to reports, BCCI may pull out the Indian cricket team out of the ICC Champions Trophy as it is very unhappy over the noise being made over Laxman Sivaramakrishnan’s election to the ICC’s Cricket Committee.

Sivaramakrishnan has been elected ahead of Tim May, who is the chief executive officer of FICA. It is believed that the ICC could have handled the issue better than they have, which has led to the issues.

The ICC had released a statement on Thursday, saying that an inquiry could be ordered over the issue, which has clearly upset the BCCI, and the board have reacted by indicating that it might pull out of the Champions Trophy.

A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source, who was unwilling to be named, said, “One of the options they (BCCI) voiced was the prospect of considering their participation in the Champions Trophy if the issue was referred to Ethics Officer.”

However, an ICC spokesman has said that they are unaware of any kind of threat from the BCCI, while the BCCI president N Srinivasan has refused to speak on the issue.
