Captain Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians players fined for slow over rate in Champions League T20

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was fined US$ 1,500 after falling behind on the over rate requirements in the 2nd Champions League T20 semifinal between Mumbai Indians and Trinidad & Tobago in Delhi.

After taking into considerations the allowances, Rohit Sharma’s side was found to be one over short of the over rate. Apart from Sharma, all his teammates too have to shell out US$ 750.

An official release on the tournament website said, “This was his second offence of the season under the CLT20s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences and Mr. Sharma was fined US$1,500 whilst each team member was fined US$750″.

Mumbai Indians defeated Trinidad & Tobago by 6-wickets to seal a place in the final of the Champions League T20, where they will face against Rajasthan Royals today, the Rajasthan side defeating one-time champion, Chennai Super Kings in the 1st semifinal.
