Dale Steyn suffers a freak injury while fishing in Zimbabwe

Dale Steyn

South African pace spearhead Dale Steyn, rested for the ongoing 3-match bilateral ODI series against Zimbabwe to keep him fresh for the following tri-nation series involving Australia, suffered a knee injury while fishing in the country.

The 31-year-old uploaded a video on Instagram, revealing his injury. In the video, he is being treated by a doctor on his left knee with the hook still clinging on to his flesh. The severity of the injury is not known, and Cricket South Africa have not made any official announcements on their strike bowler’s availability for the tournament, yet.

Steyn was a part of the one-off Test match against his African neighbours, one in which he scalped 8 wickets, including a five-for in the first innings, to help his team register an easy victory.
