The overnight Indian last wicket pair of Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami managed to add just five runs on the second morning of the Lord’s Test match before getting bowled out for a total of 295 in the second over of the day. Alastair Cook’s poor form continued as India picked up two wickets in the first session. England ended the day on 219/6.

Here are the statistical highlights of the day:

1 – After Cook and Samson Robson’s catches, Mahendra Singh Dhoni now holds the record for the most number of dismissals in India v England Tests: 55. The 33-year-old surpassed Alan Knott’s 54 dismissals. He also became the first Indian to claim 50 catches against a particular team.

8 – Number of consecutive wickets for Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this series. He picked up the last 5 England wickets to fall in the first Test and 3 in this innings. The 24-year-old, with the wicket of Gary Ballance, has now surpassed James Anderson to become the highest wicket-taker of the series.

17 – Number of overs bowled by Bhuvneshwar, before and after the lunch session in two extended spells of 10 and 7 overs respectively. He bowled 17 off the first 36 overs of the England innings.

15 – Number of times Ian Bell has not scored more than 20 runs against India; he has played 30 innings

24 – Cook’s average in his last 26 innings since scoring 130 against New Zealand, May 2013.

100 – Number of Test catches for Cook, including Shami’s one.
