India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni was fined Rs 450 in Ranchi on Monday for infringing traffic rules. Dhoni was seen enjoying a ride on his bullet for close to three hours in his hometown after returning from a gruelling tour of Australia just a few days back, but was pulled up by the traffic police for violating the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, pertaining to the display of the number plate.

Instead of having the number plate horizontally placed on the front and back of the vehicle, the registration number was printed on the mudguard of the front wheel.

"The concerned official went to Dhoni's house with the receipt and his father Pan Singh paid the fine," said the concerned traffic inspector.

The 33-year-old, who retired from Test cricket recently, won’t be having too much of a breather after leading India to a semi-final exit at the World Cup as he will be leading CSK’s quest for glory in the 8th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is set to begin later today.

CSK’s opening game of the season is against the Delhi Daredevils (DD) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday.
