Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul departed cheaply against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday. The wicketkeeper-batter made just 16 runs off 14 balls, including a four and a six. With that, the Super Kings reduced LSG to 33/2.
For the unversed, the dismissal came in the fifth over of LSG's run-chase. Mustafizur Rahman bowled a full-length ball outside off and Rahul went for the drive over the 30-yard circle. The right-hander failed to get the elevation as CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad completed the catch at extra cover.

Despite departing early against CSK, Rahul has been impressive with the bat this season so far. The 32-year-old has amassed 302 runs in eight matches, including two half-centuries.
On the other hand, Mustafizur Rahman has been exceptional with the ball for the Super Kings in IPL 2024 so far. The left-arm pacer scalped 11 wickets in his first six matches.
CSK post a 211-run target for LSG in IPL 2024 match
A clinical batting display from skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube helped CSK post 210/4 against LSG in IPL 2024 on Tuesday.
Gaikwad led from the front, scoring an unbeaten 108 off 60 deliveries in an innings laced with three sixes and 12 boundaries. Shivam Dube also hit a quickfire 66 off 27, including seven sixes and three boundaries. The duo put on a 104-run partnership for the third wicket. MS Dhoni scored a boundary off the only ball he faced.
Matt Henry, Mohsin Khan and Yash Thakur picked up one wicket each for LSG.
In response, the visitors are 73/2 after 8.2 overs, with Marcus Stoinis (48 off 24) and Devdutt Padikkal (7 off 10) at the crease. Deepak Chahar cleaned up Quinton de Kock for a three-ball duck.
CSK will next host Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chepauk Stadium on Sunday, April 28. Meanwhile, LSG will host Rajasthan Royals at Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday (April 27).
