Chennai Super Kings’ bowling trumpcard R Ashwin will miss their next two matches because of a finger injury that he sustained last night during his side’s thrilling two-run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk.

Ashwin sparked CSK’s comeback by picking up the all important wicket of Robin Uthappa who was threatening to take the game completely away from the Super Kings. In his next over, he also picked the wicket of Manish Pandey before hurting his right hand whle attempting to take a catch.

During the end of the innings, he was seen in the dugout but never came back on to the field. "Ashwin has a split in his middle finger. We do not know how many stitches he will require," Super Kings' team manager Russell Radhakrishnan said. "He has been taken to the hospital. The team has decided not to take Ashwin for the next two matches."

CSK’s next two matches are against the Kolkata Knight Riders (April 30th) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (May 2nd).
