Ashwin hits back on former Australian fast bowler

The cricket fraternity from all across the world took to Twitter and other social media platforms to show their anger towards the Nagpur pitch as South Africa registered their lowest score in a Test innings while playing against India, getting bowled out of paltry 79 runs.

The Proteas are having a horrible time in India in the Test series, struggling against the Indian spinners; the World number one team is falling apart like a house of cards.

India’s spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 12 wickets in the Nagpur Test and was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for the same. Following his impressive performance, Ashwin jumped three places to a career-high ranking of second in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test bowlers rankings.

After ICC tweeted that the new rankings are out and Ashwin has risen to a new career-high spot, former Australian fast bowler Rodney Hogg criticised and mocked the Indian bowler’s recent performances and asked him to think about the wickets he has taken on the spinners friendly tracks.

Hogg questioned Ashwin’s performance after the latest rankings showed his rise up the table. Ashwin didn’t keep quiet though, and he was quick to react as he responded to Hogg’s tweet by saying:

Ashwin is the leading wicket taker in the on-going series with 24 in his pocket already and one more Test match to go. India is leading the four-match series by 2-0 and the final Test will be played in Delhi starting from December 3.
