Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who studies in an elite London school, uploaded an Instagram post posing in his school’s rugby team photo. The photograph set his Instagram page alight with avid followers admiring his looks and choice of sport.
Shah Rukh Khan is known to be an avid sports fan. He has played football cricket and hockey in his school and college days before becoming an actor, and widely promotes sports in the country and abroad. Apart from being the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, he also owns a cricket team in the Caribbean Premier League, the Trinbago Knight Riders.
King Khan is also supposedly contemplating buying a team in the Masters Champions League, which will have teams led by retired iconic players like Wasim Akram, Brian Lara and Virender Sehwag.
Given his penchant for sports, it came as no surprise when he bought the Kolkata franchise of the Indian Premier League, the Kolkata Knight Riders. They are one of the most successful teams in the IPL, winning it twice in 2012 and 2014.
With his father being a huge promoter of cricket, it seemed an obvious choice for Aryan Khan to take up cricket as a sport. While Aryan seems to have inherited his father’s passion for sport, he has not made a conventional choice as per Indian standards. The Bollywood star’s son has apparently rejected cricket as a sport of choice and decided to play rugby for his school instead.
Aryan has become a social media celebrity and has a huge fan following due to him being Shah Rukh Khan’s son. Having around 40k followers on Instagram, he has become one of the most popular star kids on social media. He regularly updates his social media accounts with pictures of his life in the United Kingdom and has garnered a huge fan following which took his father years to build.
The Kolkata Knight Riders are performing very well in the IPL this season too. They seem to be in great form and are on top of the table. The Kolkata-based team have played four matches, having lost only one in the process. They are equal on points with the Gujarat Lions with 6 points each but are first in the table due to their higher net run rate of +1.075 compared to the Lions -0.036.
