This tournament is the 10th edition of U-19 World Cup. Out of the previous 9 tournaments, India and Australia have won the title 3 times each. Pakistan have won the title 2 times and England held the title only once.
The first U-19 World Cup was held at Australia in 1987-88 and it was named “McDonald’s Bicentennial Youth World Cup”, in which Australia were the Champions.
Indians are the current champions or defending champions of Under-19 World Cup. They beat Australia in the final by 6 wickets (with 14 balls remaining) at Tony Ireland Stadium, Townsville.
