Bangladeshi speedster Taskin Ahmed is likely to have his bowling assessment test on September 8 in Brisbane, which is going to be conducted by the ICC. It is also learnt that his fellow compatriot Arafat Sunny’s fate would also be decided in the meet. Both of them were suspended earlier this year, during the World T20 due to suspect bowling action. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)’s media committee chairman Jalal Yunus informed that Venkatapathy Raju, along with head coach Chandika Hathurusingha have given a green light for Arafat Sunny’s bowling action checked. The BCB are quite eager to gain a clean chit for the bowlers ahead of the England series in October.

Yunus was quoted by ESPNCricinfo saying, "The test date is most probably September 8 in Brisbane," Yunus also added. "If that happens, we are hoping to get him [Taskin] cleared in the following 10-12 days. We are hopeful about him in the test; we feel that he has rectified his bowling action.

"Arafat Sunny worked with Venkatapathy Raju and Chandika Hathurusingha recently. They are convinced that Sunny is ready for the ICC assessment along with Taskin's. The two might go to Brisbane together” he added.

During their suspension, both the players took part in domestic one-day tournaments to rectify their actions.

When the Under-19 World Cup was taking place, a Bangladeshi bowler named Sanjit Saha was also warned for a suspect bowling action has now been cleared by the BCB along with 4 other bowlers as per the Board’s bowling action review committee last week.

Regarding Sanjit’s case, Yunus said, "Sanjit Saha's action has changed considerably, and he is bowling within four-five degrees," Yunus said. "Whether he will remain effective will be visible only when he starts playing matches. He can play domestic cricket but in order to play international cricket, he will first need to clear ICC's assessment."

The Bangla Tigers have a tight schedule in the coming months, with England touring them for a 3-match ODI series along with two Tests. Following that, the Asian team would travel down under to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20s and a lone Test against New Zealand.

Bangladesh has emerged as a real powerhouse of Cricket in the past few years, their memorable performance during the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup being one of the highlights in recent tournaments. They qualified for the quarter-finals in a major tournament for the first time during that World Cup and have even qualified for the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled to be played in England next year.
