The popular Mauka Mauka ad series has another string attached to it. With the semi-finals between India and West Indies slated to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, the latest video will surely tickle the funny bones of all the supporters. The advert which started off as a sarcastic take on the World Cup record between India and Pakistan now has many different versions. Hence, it is hardly surprising that a spate of other Mauka-Mauka ads have spurted and have acted as a theme tune before any India encounter.
The latest one in this series has once again been created by V7 Pictures who have taken a cue from the popular series of commercials released on Star Sports during the 2015 World Cup and have come up with their own versions.
In this video, a West Indian fan is seen heaping praise on Chris Gayle, which is not taken too kindly by an Indian who is a ‘bhelpuri seller.’ The West Indian fan keeps on praising Gayle and mocking India, and the bhelpuri vendor prepares a very spicy and hot offering of Bhelpuri and serves it to him. The Windies fan nonchalantly scoops one spoon and is taken aback by the chilly offering. With a cheeky swagger the Indian then pitches his own take- “ In Mumbai there is no Gayle, only Bhel”.
Thie is a series of advertisement which started with the India-Bangladesh encounter and then took both Pakistan and Bangladesh in its purview. It then also included Australia and the West Indies is the latest entrant. This sequence initially started as a riposte to the morphed image of Bangladeshi pacer Taskin Ahmed carrying Indian skipper MS Dhoni's severed head.
