Flamboyant left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh has been a source of inspiration for many, not only because of his heroics on the field but also the way he fought the epic battle with cancer which threatened to take his life. The swashbuckling southpaw recently divulged a fact that he would also like to tell his story through a film but only after he retires.

The dashing left-hander is one of India’s greatest match winners in limited overs cricket and it was he, who inspired India to their second World Cup title in 2011 with memorable performances. He was the Man of the Tournament in that 2011 World Cup but his life took a whole new turn after that as he was diagnosed with cancer.

However, the cricketer did not lose hope and survived that battle and also staged a comeback to the international cricket after he recovered. Yuvraj Singh also released a book titled, 'The Test of My Life' in 2013 to describe his story and inspire the youth through his courageous battle.

According to reports, when the icon was asked whether he would follow the footsteps of Sachin and Dhoni and do a biopic, the cricketer replied, "My priority is cricket for now. Of course, I would love to tell my story through a film but only when I would think of hanging my boots."

The 34-year-old also spoke about his own start-up foundation YouWeCan, "Under YouWeCan, we have provided education to kids whose families have lost money for their kid?s cancer treatment. We have done over a lakh of cancer detections in rural areas and also, we have been able to generate 600 jobs till now. So, YouWeCan is heading the right way."

Yuvraj Singh, who recently played in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016, was also a key member of the Indian squad which won the inaugural T20 World Cup back in 2007. During that tournament, he hit six sixes in an over bowled by England’s Stuart Broad and imprinted his name in public memory forever.

His knock against Australia in the semifinal of that World Cup was also a treat to watch as he gracefully manhandled the Aussie attack to score a scintillating 70 off just 30 balls.
