Raikkonen’s former team Ferrari, with whom he won the world championship, is reportedly interested in having the Finn back in their team, making his coveted signature a three-way race between the Italian team, Red Bull and Raikkonen’s current team Lotus.

German newspaper Bild has reported that Ferrari has offered USD 15 million-a-year deal to Raikkonen, along with a promise to support the motocross and hockey teams Raikkonen owns.

The news about Ferrari showing interest in Raikkonen comes at a time when Fernando Alonso, who is currently with Ferrari, has been linked with arch rivals Red Bull recently. What adds fuel to this new speculation is the recent outburst of Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo against Alonso’s criticism of his car after his poor result in Hungary.

Ferrari’s other driver Felipe Massa will also expire his contract after the end of the current season, leading to speculation that Ferrari might want Raikkonen to replace him if Alonso stays with the team.
