Formula One team Ferrari paid tribute to its outgoing driver Felipe Massa by dedicating the Mugello World Finals to the Brazilian.

Massa’s eight year spell with the team will come to an end this season as he will be replaced by former teammate Kimi Raikkonen in 2014. The Brazilian has won 11 races for the team and was the runner-up for the drivers’ championship in 2008.

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo praised Massa and said that the driver was a true Ferrari man.

“We spent some great times together. While some others were more difficult, such as the accident in Budapest. These have been very busy years, and I wanted to thank him publicly. It’s time for a change and also to find new motivation,” said di Montezemolo.

“Felipe has been a true Ferrari man and he will always be part of our history. I wish him every success, starting with the last two races of this championship. He will always be part of our family,” he added.

Around 15000 people were present at the event in Mugello circuit which also showcased some Formula One demonstration runs.
