Sahara Force India yet to confirm Sutil signing

Force India's German driver Adrian Sutil

Sahara Force India has not officially confirmed that its driver line-up is complete, despite widespread reports in European media that Adrian Sutil has regained a seat at the team.

Sutil, who raced for the team from 2007 until being dropped from the team at the end of 2011, is now in contention with Jules Bianchi for the seat of second driver after both were in the cockpit for Force India in Barcelona last week.

Reports in France cited Bianchi’s manager, Nicolas Todt, saying: “Jules Bianchi will not be Paul Di Resta’s team-mate,” and that was followed by reports in UK, Italy and Germany as well.

Todt, who is Massa’s agent as well, continued: “It’s a big disappointment. I am a very realistic person but I was very hopeful he would get this drive.”

The reports further went on to add that Bianchi could continue as Force India’s reserve driver, and is also a member of the Ferrari driver academy.

Despite all these developments, a Force India spokesman told ESPN that they are “not sure when the team will announce its complete 2013 line-up”.

Meanwhile the Sahara Force India team also tweeted that “an official announcement will come when ready.”
