Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez has scored same number of goals as Manchester United recently

Alexis Sanchez is on fire at Arsenal

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez might be one of the hottest strikers in all of Europe right now but the scale at which he's devastating teams can be compared to one of the biggest teams in the world.

The Chilean is currently the Premier League's top goalscorer with eleven goals – tied with Chelsea's Diego Costa – and it's not just the scoring that's catching the eye. The former Barcelona man has also assisted ten times this season in all competitions, and apart from two of arguably the biggest stars in the world, these numbers are mesmerising.

When compared to Manchester United – England's most successful team – this season, Alexis Sanchez, is just as good as the whole team combined! Jose Mourinho spent €185 million on players in the summer as well as signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer and none of them have been able to score like the Arsenal man in the last seven games.

United's point of consideration starts when they were held to a 0-0 draw against Liverpool on 17th October. Similarly, Sanchez's point starts that same weekend when Arsenal hosted Swansea at the Emirates – where he didn't score but did register an assist.

Since that weekend, which is almost two months now, Manchester United have scored the same number of goals as a team as Alexis Sanchez has scored alone. That Liverpool fixture for Manchester United was followed by the 4-0 thumping at the hands of Chelsea and the only victory post that debacle was a 3-1 win over Swansea.

Sanchez on the other hand, scored two against Sunderland, two against Bournemouth and grabbed a hat-trick against London rivals West Ham United.

And while people may argue that Manchester United played 'tougher’ opponents, their draws against Burnley, West Ham and Everton played - the kind of fixtures that are expected to be won by a club of Manchester United's stature.

Manchester United are currently sixth in the Premier League table a whole ten points behind Alexis Sanchez's Arsenal who trail leaders Chelsea by three points themselves. And it isn't about to get easier for Jose Mourinho given he hosts Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspurs this weekend.
